Abram Krol (1919–2001) was a Polish-born, Jewish, French artist who survived WWII under false identities. Originally trained in engineering, he turned to art in the 1940s, studying sculpture and engraving in Paris. Krol illustrated books, created murals, designed tapestries, and produced over 200 enamels. His work is held in major museums worldwide, and he exhibited at the 1960 Venice Biennale.

This piece is a trial run 8/15 marked 'Epreuve D'essai VIII/XV' and signed in pencil. It features three nude figures, a man seemingly asleep after his wine cup emptied, and two woman in a gentle embrace, one holding a bundle of grapes while a bird flies overhead. Images are embossed on paper with lovely dimensional texture.

Excellent condition.
